Hearing Aid Second OpinionFree hearing aid second opinion in Westerham, SevenoaksNot getting on with your hearing aids?
Get the time, care, and clear answers you deserveAt Hawthorn Hearing, we’re seeing more and more patients each month across Kent and Surrey who have asked for advice on their current hearing aids or the service they’ve been provided. Conversations in noise are still difficult. Their hearing aids never felt quite right, or they have left appointments feeling rushed, with questions still unanswered. Something we unfortunately see is that not all hearing aids from other practices have been fitted correctly, and even very basic information has sometimes not been discussed.
If you feel like you're not getting the service you were promised, or wondering whether you have the best programming for your hearing aids, book a free appointment with us and we’ll go through everything with you, and give our honest opinion, with no pressure on you.

Over 150 patients seen for second opinions in 2026
This year, we have seen over 150 people seeking a second opinion on hearing aids supplied by the NHS, high-street providers and other private practices.
Patients have told us they wished they had come sooner, and that we explained important information they had not been given before. Some have also shared their experiences in five-star Google reviews.
That feedback reflects the care we aim to offer: time to listen, clear explanations and practical help with the hearing aids you already have.
What Happens at your Free Second-Opinion Appointment?
-
We want to understand where things have gone wrong, what has already been tried and what you would most like to improve. There is more than enough time for your questions and concerns.
-
We review your hearing history, any available hearing-test results and how your current hearing aids are working. We also explain the function of your ear system, visually inspect the ear canal and ear drums, and perform a variety of hearing tests. We use this information to consider whether your devices and the support around them are meeting your needs.
-
We talk through our findings with you: what may be contributing to the difficulty, what could be improved and which options are worth considering. You can ask questions until the next steps make sense.
-
We do as much as we can during your visit to help you get the best from the hearing aids you have. Depending on your devices and what is appropriate for you, this may include adjustments or help with fit and use.
Compatible hearing-aid review and reprogramming during this appointment are included at no charge. What we can improve depends on your hearing and your devices; we will explain their possibilities and limitations clearly.

If you know which hearing aids you wear, tell us when you enquire so we can explain how we may be able to help.
